S. Frederick Starr and Svante Cornell will analyze political and economic changes in Central Asia, assess the ramifications of the reduction of Russian influence and the concomitant rise of China in Central Asia, and examine efforts to strengthen and institutionalize Central Asian regional cooperation and strengthen connectivity across the Caspian Sea. The project’s findings will appear in a series of monographs, papers, and ongoing briefings for the policy community and media.
