Escalation and Deterrence in the Second Space Age

Grant Year: 2016

Todd Harrison and Zack Cooper will lead an effort to explore how U.S. national security policy can be adapted to enhance deterrence and escalation control in potential conflicts in space. They will conduct a series of tabletop exercises with space, defense, and regional experts from the policy and think-tank communities to explore how players respond under a range of space conflict scenarios. The project’s findings will appear in a monograph and a series of articles and briefings.
