Power and Influence in the Era of Strategic Competition: A Framework for Discursive Alignment and Material Behavior

Jordan Becker will analyze the strategic discourse of states and assess how it shapes their policy actions. He will make use of artificial intelligence technologies to analyze national security strategy materials, ministerial statements, and defense budget data from as many as 100 countries in order to develop quantifiable metrics of how states understand great power relations and how that understanding correlates with material behavior. The project’s findings will appear in a series of articles.
