Francesco Trebbi will direct the research program of a policy lab focused on measuring the costs of complying with regulations and assess the extent to which those costs affect economic outcomes. He will link a variety of public- and private-sector databases to measure the cumulative costs of regulatory compliance on key economic outcomes. The policy lab’s findings will appear in a series of papers and its linked datasets will be made publicly available to the policy research community.
