The Future of the Russian Military: Tradeoffs and Force Structure Development in Russian Reconstitution

Madison Creery, Katherine Kjellström Elgin, and Tim Sadov will assess Russia’s options for rebuilding its military in the wake of the Ukraine war. They will develop a Russian strategic choices tool (SCT) that allows users to explore different force structure options in a budget-constrained environment and will use the SCT to conduct exercises that test various options for reconstituting the Russian military. The project’s findings will appear in a report.
