Grant Year: 2024

Matteo Maggiori, Jesse Schreger, Antonio Coppola, and Christopher Clayton will examine the efficacy and ramifications of U.S. efforts to use access to the U.S. financial sector as a tool of foreign policy. They will develop a cost-benefit calculus that countries and firms would face when deciding whether to comply with U.S. financial sanctions. The project’s findings will appear in a series of papers and briefs.
