Gilman Barndollar will research and write a book that explores the challenges of reinstituting conscription in the United States in the event that the all-volunteer force were to prove inadequate to meet the nation’s military manpower requirements. He will analyze the history of conscription in the United States and undertake case studies of countries with conscription-based systems, including Israel, Colombia, Finland, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and Sweden.
