Trust Funds Solution Initiative

Marc Goldwein will lead an effort to examine how policymakers could put the U.S. government’s finances on a more sustainable path. He will develop a set of policy proposals that could restore solvency to the trust funds providing support to retirees, disabled persons, and transportation infrastructure and assess the potential economic implications of waiting until the trust funds have been exhausted, in order to encourage earlier action by policymakers. The project’s findings will appear in a series of reports and policy briefs.
