Understanding State-Level Differences in School Spending and Outcomes
Grant Year: 2023
Sarah Reber will examine the relationship between expenditures on primary and secondary schools and student academic achievement. She will analyze cross-state data on per-pupil spending in primary and secondary schools to understand better whether, and under what circumstances, increased spending leads to higher-performing schools and will compare those findings to new research suggesting increased spending leads to better student outcomes. The project’s findings will appear in a report and a policy brief.
