What China Is Learning from the Ukraine War

Joe McReynolds and Brian Lafferty will identify the lessons that Chinese military leaders are learning from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. They will analyze official writings prepared by the People’s Liberation Army to establish a baseline of Chinese views on such questions as the role of economic coercion following the Ukraine conflict, the importance of popular support for invading and defending forces, and the prospects for irregular and conventional operations in a Taiwan invasion contingency. The project’s findings will appear in a report.
