Clare Lockhart will research and write a book exploring how best to establish effective and accountable governance in countries characterized by weak institutions, high debt, and corruption. She and her colleagues will review and analyze academic research and policy prescriptions from international working groups and commissions; conduct interviews with country leaders, practitioners, and international and regional experts; and organize a conference involving country leaders to test the project’s findings.
Clare Lockhart will lead an effort to examine how firms can reconfigure their supply chains in ways that better align with democratic values and the geostrategic and economic interests of the United States and its allies and partners. The project’s findings will appear in a series of case studies and reports.
Clare Lockhart, Deborah Wetzel, Jennifer Fox, and Alex Park will lead an effort to develop a reconstruction plan for Ukraine. They will consider how Ukraine should partner with donors, channel financing to ensure efficiency and accountability, restore the economy through regional linkages, and promote social cohesion. The project’s findings will appear in a series of reports, memos, and short analyses for Ukrainian and international stakeholders.
