Douglas Besharov will research and write a book assessing a variety of strategies to create economic opportunities for disadvantaged families. He will explore whether and under what circumstances support for low-income families should be made conditional on work and will develop new ideas for how best to design income support programs.
Evan Starr and Bo Cowgill will examine the extent to which noncompete agreements between employers and employees affect the productivity and future employment prospects of workers. The project’s findings will appear in an article.
