Sari Pekkala Kerr, Deniz Çivril, and William Kerr will examine how employers respond to changes in minimum wage laws and how such changes affect opportunities for employment as well as firm formation, survival, and growth. They will analyze data linking information on employees and their employers to measure how changes in state and local minimum wage laws affect firms’ decisions regarding employment and investment. The project’s findings will appear in a series of papers.
